Sanitary Butterfly Valves

What are Sanitary Butterfly Valves?

Sanitary butterfly valves are valves that have a simple structure of a disk that is mounted on a shaft and rotates within a pipe or tube. The valve is typically made up of a body, a disc, and an actuator.

The actuator controls the disc’s movement, which determines the flow of fluid in the system. These valves are called sanitary because their design prevents dirt and bacteria from accumulating, making them ideal for applications where hygiene is critical.

Applications of Sanitary Butterfly Valves

Sanitary Butterfly Valves are widely used in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, and chemical processing plants.

These valves are preferred over other valve types due to their excellent hygienic features, ease of operation, and low maintenance. In the food and beverage industry, sanitary butterfly valves are ideal for controlling the flow of liquids, slurry, and other thick materials.

Advantages of Sanitary Butterfly Valves

Sanitary butterfly valves have several advantages over other types of valves. For starters, they are easy to install, have a compact design, and are lightweight.

They are also relatively inexpensive, which makes them ideal for use in industries where cost-effectiveness is a priority. Another advantage is that they require little maintenance. Additionally, they have excellent hygienic features that prevent cross-contamination.
